Sania slips in rankings

A first-round exit in the French Open has pushed Sania Mirza one rung down to 41 in the latest WTA rankings.

The Indian, who had lost to 10th seed Russian Anastasia Myskina in the first round of the top clay court event, now has 522.50 points in her kitty.

Gold again for Kunjarani


Kunjarani Devi became the first Indian gold medallist at the 18th Commonwealth Games in Melbourne on Thursday. The 38-year-old lifter set a new clean and jerk record (166 kg) in the 48 kg division for women.
